praxis
I explore the porous edges of my body and natural landscapes as sources of knowing and truth. Investigations include the creative practices of others, surrealism, animism and mirror touch synaestheisa. I often work with images in series, diptychs and triptychs, exaggerating, distorting, juxtaposing images using digital software. I work from feeling, intuition, my heart. My inspiration is an aspect of self that is not yet activated, or is only slightly activated. The source is unknown. I wander, a desire to look more closely becomes an examination that opens up and expands. I experiment with what is new and different, potentiality seeking to manifest.I become consumed by the experience and the process. The energy is outside me and inside me at once. This experience does not have a linear language. My work is about finding my own non-verbal language that illuminates and reflects this energetic space in and from which I work.
