Ana Fabíola Maurício
Ana Fabíola Maurício (b. 1985, Lisbon) is co-founder and co-curator of the independent curatorial project “nanogaleria” with Luísa Santos since September 2018. She is Head of the Research and Innovation Office of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) since January 2018. She is also Project Manager, Curator, and Researcher for the European Cooperation Project “4Cs – From Conflict to Conviviality through Creativity and Culture”, co-funded by the “Creative Europe: Culture” programme of the European Commission, coordinated by the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH-UCP), from July 2017 until March 2022.
Since 2018 she has co-curated several exhibitions of artists coming from and/or living in Portugal, Iran, Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Mozambique, Denmark, amongst others, in national, international, and online contexts. Since then she has also contributed to a number of exhibition texts as well as to exhibition and collection catalogues as author, co-author, and co-editor. In the frame of the 4Cs Project she has been directly involved in the production and communication management of several exhibitions, artists’ residencies, artistic mediation laboratories, film programmes and video-art installations, workshops, and Summer Schools, amongst other artistic, cultural, and academic activities. Senior Researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (FCH-UCP) since 2016, and Junior Researcher since 2010.
Ana Fabíola Maurício holds a double degree PhD in Culture Studies by The Lisbon Consortium at FCH-UCP (2016) and in Cultural and Literary Studies by the Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture da Justus-Liebig Universität, Giessen, Germany (co-tutelle doctoral program European PhD Network); an M.A. in Media Studies, specialising in Cultural Management and Communication (2010); and a B.A. in Applied Foreign Languages, specializing in International Relations (2007) by FCH-UCP.
