Ren Loren Britton
Accessibility Friend and Trans*Feminist Technical Support
Ren Loren Britton is a white trans* interdisciplinary artist and researcher tuning with practices of critical pedagogy, trans*feministtechnoscience and disability justice. Playing with the queer potential of undoing norms they practice joyful accountability to matters of collaboration, accessibility, Black feminisms, instability and trans*(positioning + gendering)politics. They love slugs, slowness, reading, repetition, non-linearity and experimenting.
Ren has shared artistic work within multiple institutions including ALT_CPH Biennale (Copenhagen), Transmediale & Haus der Kulturen der Welt & Martin Gropius Bau (all Berlin), Constant (Brussels), Sonic Acts (Amsterdam), Kunsthalle Osnabrück (Osnabrück), Het Nieuwe Institute & Varia (both Rotterdam) & Rupert (Vilnius). Recent academic articles have been published in Catalyst, MATTER and Digital Creativity and within edited volumes by Bloomsbery Academic, Spektor Books and Barbara Budrich.
With Iz Paehr as MELT they study and experiment with shape-shifting processes as they meet technologies, sensory media and pedagogies in a warming world. Pursuing melting as a kaleidoscope like phenomena touches upon multiple topics at once: climate change, the potential for political reformulations, change over time and material transformation.
