Maggie Buxton
Dr. Maggie Buxton is a transdisciplinary practitioner, creative entrepreneur, and social innovator with over thirty years of experience at the intersection of social change, technology, and creative practice. Holding a PhD from AUT-Colab focusing on augmented and geo-locative mobile technologies and an MSc in Organisational Development from Sheffield Business School, Maggie is committed to fostering resilience and innovation across global communities. Since the early '90s, Maggie has driven systemic change through her work with ecovillages in West Africa and Latin America, social enterprises in Scotland, and climate initiatives in Asia. She co-founded the Creative Technology Northland Network in New Zealand to bolster the creative digital sector and is a member of international transdisciplinary organisations: SEADS, ITD and CIRET. At the helm of AwhiWorld, Maggie integrates emerging technologies like augmented reality to develop transformative projects that bridge science, art, and humanities with a focus on environmental sciences. Her practice spans strategic consulting, leadership coaching, and producing interactive installations, emphasising collaboration with diverse communities to achieve impactful change. Maggie's cross-disciplinary efforts continue to inspire and facilitate groundbreaking initiatives in education, corporate training, and community engagement worldwide.
