Tomorrow: Tuesday, December 3rd, Sanford will participate in a panel discussion with artist Zac Langdon-Pole and former NASA astronaut Terry Virts, moderated by András Szántó. Stargazing: a Conversation about Art and Space is presented by Soho House and BMW i. The talk at Soho Beach House is from 7:30pm-9pm, and will be followed by a reception from 9pm-11pm.

Stargazing: A Conversation about Art and Space

Presented by Soho House and BMW i, this panel discussion will focus on artistic narratives around constellations in space and the cosmos. The panelists are Zac Langdon-Pole, last year's BMW Art Journey recipient, visual artist Sanford Biggers, and Terry Virts, former NASA astronaut and ISS Commander. The panel will be moderated by András Szántó. The event will feature the launch of the book 'Constellations', which documents Langdon-Pole’s BMW Art Journey.

Over the weekend: December 6-8 is New Wave Art Wknd, where Sanford is on the New Wave Advisory Committee.

NEW WAVE ART WKND
Founded by gallerist Sarah Gavlak, New Wave Art Wknd formalizes the fact that after the Vernissage of Art Basel Miami Beach most local collectors return to Palm Beach and host lavishly that weekend. It is led by Gavlak and an Advisory Board that includes Beth Rudin DeWoody, Amy Phelan, Ann Tenenbaum, Jane Holzer, Lisa & Richard Perry, Franklin Sirmans, Mike De Paola, and Sanford Biggers.

Curated by Shamim M. We are delighted to announce Sanford's latest artist monograph is available for purchase now from CAM St. Louis!
With writings by Lisa Melandri, Khalil Gilbran Muhammad, Christa Clark, and Naomi Beckwith, this catalog is the first publication to document Sanford Biggers' BAM series, in which he uses sculpture, video and quilt paintings to honor and memorialize black victims of police gun violence in America. This monograph accompanies his solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, which is currently on view at Tufts University.

MUSEUM SOLO EXHIBITION: Codeswitch
Save the date for Sanford's upcoming solo exhibition, Codeswitch. Codeswitch will open at the Bronx Museum of the Arts in April 2020, traveling to Contemporary Art Center New Orleans in October 2020 and California African American Museum in early 2021.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a monograph edited by Andrea Andersson and Antonio Sergio Bessa, with contributions by Greg Tate, Jacqueline L. Tobin and Raymond G. Dobard, Mia Kang, and John Jennings with David Brame and Esperanza Bey. The catalogue is available for pre-order from Yale University Press now.

Duro Olowu: Seeing Chicago
Nigerian-born British designer Duro Olowu curates an exhibition which draws from Chicago's public and private art collections, including works in the MCA’s collection. The show reimagines relationships between artists and objects across time, media, and geography. Moving away from traditional exhibition formats, Olowu combines photographs, paintings, sculptures, and films in dense and textural scenes that incorporate his own work. Organized in collaboration with MCA Manilow Senior Curator Naomi Beckwith.
