The session is divided into two halves, each designed to nurture and enhance the artistic practices of our diverse group. In the first half, dedicated time is allocated for creative writing work, providing an opportunity for participants to delve into individual thesis drafts while receiving constructive feedback and support from their peers. This collaborative atmosphere fosters growth and allows participants to refine their writing skills.

The second half of the session shifts focus to breakout rooms for smaller group discussions. Here, participants engage in in-depth conversations about their evolving practices and writing endeavours. These discussions offer valuable insights and foster a sense of camaraderie among participants, creating a supportive environment for further exploration and growth.

with Jean Marie Casbarian

This mini-workshop will investigate the various strategies you employ to further your work, what it is, and how you envision its outcome. Discussions will address how you might own a space when narrating your work as it relates to your thesis project and your general orientation as a creative practitioner and thinker. In our time together, we will talk through ways in which to develop structures that could potentially weave your final presentations into a larger statement, while contextualizing the discipline you are working in, both inside and outside of the MFA experience.
