Calendar for students beginning in 2008

07.13 - 08.01 Summer residency Linz, Austria '08
There is an intensive summer residency in Linz. The day by day program can be found here.

08.01 -  09.01 Break
Students have a month to prepare for their first semester, firm up their project plans, etc. They do this wherever they live, off-site. Some students travel during this period.

09.01 Fall semester begins
From September until January students work on their independent art and research projects, wherever they choose to live and work off-campus, accompanied by their studio mentor either with studio visits or by phone and internet meetings as well as with their faculty on their research project by email and phone. 

01.16 - 01.18 Winter residency New York '09
This is an optional weekend residency where students have an exhibition, lectures, get feed back and critiques of their projects at the mid-point.

02.01 Spring semester begins
Students complete their year long art and research projects, again off-campus.

07.01 Reading diaries
Students read ahead and keep a diary so they better understand their readings in preparation for the next summer residency's seminars and workshops. 

07.12 - 07.31 Summer residency TBA '09
The second of three summer residencies takes place on campus.

08.01 -  09.01 Break
